Inspirational Poetry – Inspiring Motivational Poems
Category: Online Poetry
Inspirational poems remind us of our need to “walk the walk” and not just “talk the talk.” Words can be inspirational and motivational and can help us lead the lives we yearn for. The poets and writers of our lifetime took much of what they have known and learned from the inspirational (and motivating, too!) words of those which came before, both in the art of poetry and in life in general.
A collection of motivational poems to add a positive thought to your day. Use this motivating poetry to reflect on, and, let the inspirational words of wisdom in our Featured Poem motivate and inspire you. Robert Frost is quoted as saying, “A poem begins in delight and ends in wisdom”.
Our motivational poems are from writers around the world who have shared their wisdom through poetry. We hope you enjoy these poetic writings that are motivational. New poetry will be featured on a regular basis.
One of our favorite motivational poems:
The Victor
Poet: C.W. Longenecker
If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost.
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you are outclassed, you are.
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But sooner or later, the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
One of many famous motivational poems:
The Road Not Taken
Poet: Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Commitment
Keep your word
No matter what
The cost to you may be.
For those nearby
Believe not what
They hear but what they see.
Take Care
How did you say
Goodbye this morn?
What were the things you said?
What if they were
Your final words
Until the life ahead?
Unfamiliar Gray
Too busy we
To nurture them
To read, to laugh, to pray.
To busy they
To visit us,
The unfamiliar gray.
