We are delighted to have this opportunity to "do-over" and honored to recommit to internet poets & readers.
Poetry Today Online started in 1997 on Angelfire.com (which is now - a part of Lycos.) It quickly outgrew its home.
In January 1998, Poetry Today Online opened its own domain.
At its peak, this resourceful poetry site hosted two other sites: Poetic Voice and it touched briefly with the World Poetry Academy.
Poetry Today Online sponsored & managed the Ring of Words Webring for three years. It merged with Cafe Press for a short time, and was acknowledged with the time honored "Most Improved Website" award given by the then well-known Poetry Super Highway.
The e-zine was comprised of writers world-wide who donated their time and expertise to monthly columns read by over one million readers.
A couple of those writers have (since) published their own poetry books and cds. Others have persued different interests in various arts.
Yes, we were mighty big business back in the day and we plan to do that again. We know that we can rely on the support of professional and aspiring writers alike.
Now that you have the history of Poetry Today Online, we know that you can rest assured that this poetic website promises to honor poets and readers with superb professionalism and resources.
